About Us

Dandy Acres Angus was founded in 1964 by Gregg and Nancy Johnson of Pipestone, Minnesota. Today, they are joined in the operation by their son, Neil, and his wife, Katie, and their kids.

While Angus breed trends have evolved over the years, our focus has remained the same—meeting the needs of cattlemen. Low birth weights for easy calving, paired with rapid, efficient growth, are central to our breeding goals at Dandy Acres. Careful planning and a progressive AI and embryo transfer program using proven “curve bender” sires help us deliver on those priorities.

Whether you’re a cattleman searching for your next herd sire or replacement females, a youth looking for a project to be proud of, we invite you to stop by Dandy Acres and see the livestock behind our program. We enjoy visiting about your operation, goals, and what you’re trying to accomplish so we can help you find the right fit.
